A Giving Italian Verb

Dare – to give – is one of the most common Italian verbs. It’s used just like its English equivalent.

Per esempio…

Ti do una mela.   I’m giving you an apple.
Quest’albero dà molti frutti.   This tree gives a lot of fruit.
Gli insegnanti danno sempre i compiti a casa. Teachers always give homework.

Dare present tense conjugations

Dare is an irregular –are verb:

io do    noi diamo
tu dai voi date
lui, lei loro danno

Note the required accent on , which distinguishes the third person singular verb conjugation from the preposition da (from).
